VMS Solutions Co.Ltd. is an industrial software company, located in Yongin, Republic of Korea. It grew out of KAIST (Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology) VMS Lab (Virtual Manufacturing Systems Laboratory) in 2000, and supplied Virtual Manufacturing system to household names of high-tech industries, such as Samsung Electronics, LG Display and SK Hynix. Moreover, it founded its U.S branch in Washington DC to expand its business to world-wide.

VMS facilitates maximization of production efficiency with simulation, based on data from shop floor, Whereas JIT(Just In Time) of Toyota has become an old-fashioned way of manufacturing system.

That is the main reason why the system spread out to all of Samsung’s Semiconductor and Display factories after the implementation to Samsung LCD Production, and got awarded as a leading technology at Samsung IT Symposium 2006. The technology takes the role of a driving force of the company for expanding to overseas market.

It is spreading out to the other area of manufacturing, such as PCB, tire, steel and cardboard, since manufacturing process are getting automated, which makes it possible for general manufacturing industries to implement simulation system. Various data from manufacturing automation is a driving force that enables more than 10% of efficiency growth without any change or supplement of equipment.

The company is consistently trying to come up with new solutions that fits into small and medium sized industries, with the experiences from semiconductor and display industries.
